REXBURG—The Hangar music venue is holding its vintage and community market on Thursday.
Claire Janicki, an intern at The Hangar, said she and her co-worker, Hudson Lee, wanted to have an event to bring the community together and to bring attention to the venue.
“We both wanted to create more events to bring the community in to see our venue in the way that we see it as kind of a community-based creative space,” Janicki said. “So, we kind of took that idea and created the market.”
Whether attendees want to find vintage items, discover local businesses or get a bite to eat, the Rexburg Vintage and Community Market has a variety of options from more than a dozen vendors.
“We've got vintage clothing sellers, antique finds. We've got some people selling food and crafts,” Janicki said. “So just a little bit of everything mainly focused on the vintage, but we also brought the community into it as well.”
The Hangar found success and community support holding its first market in April, reporting around a thousand shoppers. It plans to host the Vintage and Community Market on the first Thursday of every month.
“We just want people to come hang out and really see the venue,” Janicki said. “We are just striving to keep our venue alive and thriving. We're very community focused. We want a place for music to thrive as well as just people in the Rexburg area, students and community members alike.”
The Hangar is located at 309 Profit St. in Rexburg. The market is free to attend and will be from 5 - 9 p.m. You can find more information about the Hangar and its events on its website here.
