REXBURG—The Rexburg Farmers Market recently began its 2026 season. Every Friday the market gives attendees the chance to hear live music, find local produce, goods and wares from local businesses.
President of the Rexburg Farmers Market, Larry Golden, says the opening week of the market was one of the best they have had, with roughly one thousand people attending and 88 different vendors.
Through Golden’s three-year tenure spent working with the farmers market board, he has seen growth and positive changes each year.
“It's been going on 20 plus years,” Golden said. “We’ve continued to grow. We're reaching out to the community and trying to get them more involved. We're trying to really market to the residents of Madison County and surrounding areas.”
The market has introduced some new concepts this season, including yard games, a play area for children, more food vendors and a new compact market layout.
“We've implemented a kind of a V shape for vendors in the middle of the market,” Golden said. “So instead of making the market longer, we've compacted it to kind of keep people in more of a circular area.”
The Rexburg Farmers Market also offers new local businesses the unique opportunity to test the waters with the community.
“It's a good test bed, to get out there and really try what they're doing and see how well it flourishes or not,” Golden said. “It really gives them an opportunity to connect directly with the customer.”
Above all, Golden says the Rexburg Farmers Market is all about giving the community the chance to come together.
“We want to invest in Madison County,” Golden said. “It's a great experience. So, it's really trying to make this a solid community event every week where people can get together.”
The Rexburg Farmers Market is held every Friday at the Madison County Fairgrounds from 4 to 8 p.m. You can find vendor information, a market map and more information on the Rexburg Farmers Market at rexburgfarmersmarket.org.
