REXBURG—The Rexburg Community Theatre will bring the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss to life in Seussical next Thursday. The musical performance combines aspects and characters from some of Dr. Suess’s most beloved books into one fantastical story full of songs and dance.
Anne Cluff is a co-president of the Rexburg Community Theatre and the director of the show.
“It's just a great show for the whole family there's something for everybody,” Cluff said. “There's a message for everyone regardless of age. You'll come out of there tapping your toe and wanting to come back and see it again.”
12 years ago the Rexburg Community Theatre performed Seussical and Cluff directed the show. Cluff looks forward to bringing the hit show back to Rexburg.
“When we did it twelve years ago, the community just ate it up,” Cluff said. “They loved it. We had packed houses every night. We had an absolutely incredible cast. All of our principal characters were spot on, and we've got that very same thing happening this time as well.”
The Rexburg Community Theatre focuses on family friendly shows, that can be enjoyed by all ages.
“We have a mission statement and basically if it's not family friendly, if it's not something that you can bring the whole family to, we kind of pass it by,” Cluff said. “Sometimes what will work in bigger communities like Salt Lake, Boise, or Idaho Falls will not work in Rexburg.”
