BYU-Idaho Radio · Emily Miller from Rexburg Arts promotes upcoming local events
Although Rexburg, Idaho, is a small town, it has a wide variety of activities for everyone in the community to get involved in.
A new opportunity in Rexburg is the Family Community Choir. There are two different choirs, one for ages 6 through 11 and another for ages 12 and up. The choirs learn songs on their own and together. The performance will be at the end of April and sign-ups for the choir are still being accepted.
The 3rd Annual Quilt Show will take place on March 10, 11 and 13 at the Tabernacle from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is free and donations will be accepted to benefit renovations to the Tabernacle.
“If we want to keep this beautiful building that we’ve cherished in this community for so long, we’re going to need some help raising some funds,” said Emily Miller, media manager for Rexburg Arts.
Rexburg has continuous activities each month, such as Free Movie Monday, art classes for kids, teenagers and adults, LOL Rexburg and Extended Play Cinema.
Looking ahead to summer months, Rexburg Arts will hold a Children’s Theatre Camp from July 5 - 14 for ages 6 - 11. They will perform “Interrupting Chicken.” The Teen Theatre Camp will be held July 31 - August 11 for ages 12 - 17. They will perform Disney’s “Newsies Jr.” The summer concert series “Arts in the Park” will return this summer to Porter Park.
On Saturday, Sept. 23, Community Concert: The Beatles will be held at 7 p.m. at the Romance Theater. Audition videos and forms are due by July 1.
