Jay Osmond has spent the last 60 years of his life in show business. From television programs, concerts and writing the story to a musical, he is no stranger to the spotlight. Now Jay and his wife, Karina, are hosting a local radio program in Idaho Falls.
“I've spent my life in show business and that's why I love radio so much because music has been such a big part of my life,” Jay said. “And my sweet wife, Karina, has always loved music and she is such a big integral part of what we're doing up here in radio.”
The couple’s family ties to Southeast Idaho have brought them to now call it their home.
“We both have background and a lot of heritage in Idaho,” Karina said. “Jay's mom was born in Malad. My grandma was born in Rockland and Jay's grandpa was born in Star Valley, Wyoming. We lived up here the first few months of our marriage and so we just are back full circle now.”
On their show, The Osmonds on Air, Jay and Karina play, discuss and share stories about the hits from the 70s and 80s.
“Music transcends language,” Jay said. “It's just a wonderful four hours every day, Monday through Friday, that we enjoy just talking about the music and listening to it. It's just a big bright spot every day for us.”
The Osmonds on Air can be heard on The Arrow, 107.1 FM Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
