A little bit about me:

I was born in Jamaica, but I claim Idaho as my home. I grew up in a rural area in a family of 11. Being the oldest of nine has come with a lot of responsibilities, and a lot of rewards like being the most-favorite oldest sister for instance. I LOVE spending time with my family and attending my sibling's musical and sporting events. We’ve learned to work together, through our parents’ businesses, as well as laugh together.

I had the chance to represent the state as our Miss Idaho for America Strong 2022. I competed in the national Miss for America pageant and was a Top 6 Finalist and our National Miss Congeniality winner. It’s been an honor to represent the great state of Idaho.

My comm background:

Growing up I felt drawn to the communication field. My interest in journalism started during my studies at Brigham Young University Idaho. There, I took my first journalism classes, and I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Visual Communication with an Emphasis in Organizational Communication.

Upon graduation, I was the first full-time reporter hired at EastIdahoNews.com. I worked as a multi-media journalist for four years and won several awards during that time including first place in Light Feature Reporting from the Idaho Press Club.

I had the chance to expand my writing skills when I worked in a corporate environment for Latter-day Saint Charities. The stories I told were adapted for social media and digital marketing purposes. After being with Latter-day Saint Charities for almost three years I transitioned to my current position with BYU-Idaho. I currently work as an adjunct professor in journalism and a Radio Programming Director for BYU-Idaho Radio.

I’m currently working on my MA through Full-Sail University, and I love it!
