Madison Cares Hosts 17th Annual Celebrate You!

Need one last thing to do before the new school year begins? On Tuesday Aug. 17, Madison Cares is proud to host the 17th annual Celebrate You, where people of all ages can explore their community and participate in fun events. The events range from activities like a huge slip-n-slide at Porter Park, or a train ride with Rexburg Police at Madison Middle School, a climbing wall, free book station, free food and much more.

This year’s Celebrate You is structured as a choose your own adventure event. There are three main places where booths are set up: Porter Park, Madison Middle school and Madison Education Center. Each has a plethora of things you can do.

“Each one of [the locations] has a theme as far as exploring the community we live in, the beautiful world we live in, and also exploring ourselves by figuring out who we are,” said Jessica Goudy, spokeswoman for Madison School District #321.

Goudy said people who want to participate should visit their website and download the adventure guide.

“Where you want to start depends on who you are. There’s no single entry point. You can start at any of the stops and pick up what you need there. You do it based on what you’re most excited about,” Goudy said.
