BYU-Idaho Radio · Local Physical Therapy Clinic Wins Chamber Award
Every month, the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce awards a local business with the Business of the Month award. Local restaurants, hardware stores, and medical facilities have all been recipients of the award.
This month, Pick PT Physical Therapy won the award. It’s located in Rexburg and Idaho Falls. The business has been around since 2018.
“We’re excited,” said Dr. Cordell Pickering, owner of Pick PT Physical Therapy. “We have the banner hanging up in our office right now and I like it so much we might just keep it.”
Pickering has been a physical therapist for a few years now. He started the company in 2018 in Rexburg, and they got their second location in Idaho Falls in November of 2019.
“The companies are new, but they’ve done extremely well, especially with COVID, and have been growing and growing since we opened,” Pickering said.
Pick PT hasn’t been around long, but it has made efforts to become a pillar of the community. Not only do they focus on helping patients return from tough injuries, but they also work hard to support the people outside of the office, Pickering said.
“We have been involved in running events like the Teton Dam Marathon and Palisades Ultra Trail Series. We just like to be involved in the community,” Pickering said.
The award does mean a lot to the company. But Pickering doesn’t want to change what the company is doing.
“We’re all about elevating life for our patients, so when we get patients that come in, we strive to find out what they are not able to do and getting them back to living life moving,” Pickering said.
The award has pushed Pick PT into the spotlight, and now the business is working to keep up the good work.
“With getting this award, that’s going to help us focus even more on our company, and we’re just going to keep working and improving the community of Rexburg and East Idaho, and we’ll see what comes forward in the future,” Pickering said.
