BYU-Idaho’s Career Center has been a big supporter of students finding jobs, internships and graduate programs. On Feb. 20 at the BYU-Idaho Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Career Center will host the Winter Career Fair.
A new event center is coming to Rexburg, and it’s called the Uptown Event Center. There will be an opening meet and greet on Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Blackfoot High School is constructing a new Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Student Center, with Assistant Superintendent Ryan Wilson overseeing the project. The idea originated in 2021 when plans for a new elementary school led to repurposing the old building into the Blackfoot Technical Education Center (BTEH). The center will offer various courses, including machining, welding, auto mechanics, healthcare, broadcasting and hospitality, in collaboration with local businesses and the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. Although construction is ongoing, the facility aims to provide students with career exploration opportunities and a head start in their chosen fields.
Growth continues in Rexburg, Sugar City and Madison County for 2025. The leaders of the two cities, the county, BYU-Idaho and Madison School District #321 spoke during the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s State of the Cities and County Breakfast held at BYU-Idaho.
Madison County has its State of the Cities and County addresses every year and for the second year in a row the breakfast will be held in the Taylor Building at BYU-Idaho. The breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m.
The Armchair Traveler Challenge is a book reading challenge at the Madison Library District. It encourages readers to read books that fit into different challenges throughout the year.
