The Park at Swan Valley and Grand Trunk present a world record event adventurers will not want to miss. On Saturday, anyone can join the largest hammock hangout world record attempt. Reserve a ticket at Hammmockworldrecord.com and pick up a hammock at the campsite in Swan Valley at 3:30 p.m. The world record attempt will include a full-swing festival afterward with music, games and food.

Bryce Jurgy is the campground owner of The Park at Swan Valley with his wife, Nellie. Their journey began with the simple idea of having one adventure a week. The Jurgys shared their experience through their YouTube channel. To inspire others to seek adventures, they traveled around the world leaving geocache treasures for people to find.

Then inspiration struck when the Jurgys bought a campsite five years ago. They run a camp event in the summer with up to 50 families to help experience some summer outdoor fun.

“Our whole incentive of doing this campground and creating content is just to get people outdoors and adventuring,” Bryce Jurgy said.

For the world record attempt, Jurgy partnered with Grand Trunk, a company that makes quality hammocks and stands. This makes it possible for The Park at Swan Valley to host this wide-scale hammock event. All the ticketed participants will get a hammock and stand to lie in. This will probably be the easiest world record a person can participate in, Jurgy said.

“It's a great family friendly event, so I'm most excited to see all the smiles,” Jurgy said. “We have some fun games planned while everyone's laying in their hammocks.”

Along with the world record attempt the participants can enjoy a festival with a live concert featuring Arbour Season, a climbing wall, carnival games, a mechanical bull and food.

Currently, the record to beat for most people lying on hammocks is 125 people on Record Setter and 269 people on Guinness World Records. This is part of the reason the event is ticketed, to be sure the world record is beat. While nothing is guaranteed if a world record attempt is accepted, documenting is key.

“Our goal is just to beat any documented number that we could find online,” Jurgy said.

With Grand Trunk, Jurgy made customized hammocks with pouches labeled with ‘world record hammock’ that participants will be using. After the attempt, participants can even buy their hammock and/or stand for 50% off.

The Park at Swan Valley is located at 1908 Chapel Rd. in Swan Valley. Check-ins start at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
