REXBURG— On the corner of 2nd West and Main Street in Rexburg lies a gem hidden in plain sight, the Rexburg Clothing outlet run by Deanna Thornton.
The store itself has been around for a while but was taken over by Thornton in January 2023. She was previously an employee.
“Customers are pleasantly surprised that it’s not just another thrift store,” Thornton says.
Locals can find high-quality clothes for an affordable price— in fact she knocks the prices down to keep it that way. Not many things are over $20 and she has name brands.
“The majority of it is Costco overstock and returns, so I’ve had a lot of people ask me if I’m going to sell other things... honestly Costco I feel like carries really good brands,” Thornton says.
Thornton has a bit more women’s clothes, but she has something for everyone in the family, including footwear. Speaking of customers she says this—“They love the prices, they love that it’s Costco. I didn’t know how many people loved Costco clothes, but a lot of people do including me. Everything I wear every day comes from this store,” Thornton says.
Thornton says a friendly environment is something she looks for when shopping, so she tries to offer it to the community.
“I like for people to have a place to shop where they feel like they’re going to be greeted, and be able to sit and have a conversation if they want to and have just an overall good experience,” Thornton says. “I like just being able to make connections with people in the community."
Thornton hopes once people learn about her store they’ll continue to spread the word.
“Tell all your friends about the store because I feel like not enough people know that the store even exists, not enough people know that the hours have changed to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and not enough people know what we are, that it’s not a thrift store— it’s fun Costco clothes,” Thornton says.
