This weekend, you can take yourself and your family to Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls to enjoy the wide variety of shopping, food, music and more at the inaugural Summer Market Days event.

This new event is this weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Kelsey Salsbery, director of marketing at the Mountain America Center, says they’ll have a large outdoor area called Adventureland, which is meant to give people the feeling they’re in a large campsite. She says often at these types of events people can feel like they’re at a car dealership. The organizers at Mountain America Center are partnering with Toyota and Bish’s RV to give attendees an even better experience at Adventureland.

“Coming to Adventureland, when you get to Mountain America Center during Summer Market Days, you get to walk through, like, a faux campsite. We’re setting this up like people would be if they had their own campers and trucks and all the toys that make adventure adventuring so fun in eastern Idaho,” Salsbery said.

Attendees can expect a variety of shopping with vendors and local artisans. Salsbery says there will be a number of workshops that people can also participate in.

“One of our vendors is a really successful restaurant in town and they’ll be putting on a mocktail-making class, and then we have one that’s doing a floral arranging workshop, so it’s just demonstrations and workshops from our vendors that are participating at Summer Market Days that have something to offer more than just what’s in their vendor booth space,” Salsbery said.

Salsbery says her favorite part of Summer Market Days is the food trucks.

“I mean, I love food trucks. We have so many food trucks coming. I believe we’re up to about 18 a day that will be on-site, ranging from savory to sweet options, drink options, everything [you] could possibly want,” Salsbery said.

In addition to the shopping and the good eats, Action Adventure Motorsports will offer ride-alongs in one of their side-by-sides through a course with jumps. Mountain America Center will also host an outdoor concert Friday at 6 p.m. with Nashville-based band Due West, and local sensations Dawson Moon and Jamie Hansen.

Salsbery says the event is free to the public, and a win-win for everyone involved.

“It’s just a good reason for us and a good excuse for us to open up our doors, welcome the community, you know, no tickets, no paid, nothing. Just come on in, enjoy, you know, shop for local vendors, support small businesses, give those folks a great platform to showcase their wares and goods,” Salsbery said.
