REXBURG—Local non-profit Sephlin Foundation is holding a 3-day golf clinic for children 2-18 years old and the Swing for Sephlin golf scramble fundraiser this summer.

The clinic is June 16-18 at Teton Lakes Golf Course and Legacy Golf Course in Rexburg. Children of all skill levels are invited to participate to learn or boost their skills at putting, chipping, driving and playing a round of golf. The cost of the clinic is $50 per child.

“We also have them understand where golf came from and how to make it healthy in their lifestyle,” said Sephlin Hepworth, the founder of Sephlin Foundation.

Hepworth started the foundation in 2024 to help underserved children learn life-long skills. She “uses golf as a vehicle for providing skill-building, educational, and wellness opportunities,” according to the Sephlin Foundation website.

The foundation holds classes multiple times a week where children learn golf skills as well as other life skills, such as money management, sewing, engineering, dance, exercise and more.

The adults won’t be left out of the golfing fun. The Swing for Sephlin Golf Tournament is Saturday, July 18, starting at 8 a.m. The shotgun-style tournament is 18 holes at Teton Lakes Golf Course — both the North and South Fork courses. Teams are four-person teams and can be ages 12 and up. The early bird sign-up is $500 for a team or $135 for an individual until June 19. After June 19 it will be $600 for a team or $150 for an individual.

The tournament is the main fundraiser for Sephlin Foundation. Hepworth says it will be a lot of fun and will include raffle prizes. The proceeds all go to the foundation.

For those who can’t make the tournament or would like a different way to help the foundation, Hepworth is participating in the Entrepreneur of Impact Competition where she could win $25,000. Hepworth said, if she wins, she will invest the money into the foundation. She’s in the top 10 right now and needs votes to stay in the running.
