Rexburg Restaurant Rush event returns

The Rexburg Restaurant Rush is in full swing. After a successful first year last year, the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce decided to bring the event back for the second year in a row.

Emilia Lusk works with the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce and has helped bring the event to life. The idea for the event came from Chamber President Janeline Holt.

“She was a restaurant owner for about 15 years down in Utah before moving to Idaho and becoming president of the Rexburg Chamber,” Lusk said. “She really knew the restaurant business, and she knew how hard it was to own a restaurant and the challenges that come with that. And so, we wanted to find something to support the restaurant specifically. “

Lusk said the Restaurant Rush is a chance for the community to try new local restaurants, with 25 restaurants participating this year with offers exclusively for the Rexburg Restaurant Rush.

“Each restaurant participating is having a special deal or promotion for Rexburg Restaurant Rush. So, like 15% off at the Steak and Berries food truck for the whole week or something like that. There's a variety of different deals. It's a chance for you to try new food at really good prices, and to support our local eateries.”

Bingo cards are offered at each participating Restaurant Rush location with an accompanying sticker. After purchasing an item at the restaurant, participants will receive a sticker to place on the bingo card which enters them into a raffle for prizes like gift cards and coupons from the participating restaurants.

“And then once you get five in a row, diagonal, horizontal, vertically, however, you can come in and bring your bingo card to the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce and be entered into a raffle drawing for those gift cards,” Lusk said.

The Rexburg Restaurant Rush starts on March 4 and ends on March 9. For more information, you can head to the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce website or follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
