Thursday, Rexburg celebrates the 4th of July with its annual Independence Day Parade. The festivities are on Thursday from 10 a.m. - noon. There will be candy, floats, performers and other activities throughout the day.
The parade will begin its course near Madison Junior High School and end at the roundabout on 4th S. and 2nd W. Visitors can begin securing their spots by July 3rd, at 6 p.m. Any chairs or personal belongings placed near the parade route before 6 p.m. will be removed and taken to the City Parks Maintenance Shop. Spots that are left unattended at any point will be removed and potentially claimed by others.
Later in the night, there will be an Independence Day fireworks show. The show will begin at 10 p.m. There will be three locations where the fireworks will be launched in unison, making viewing easier. Porter Park will have activities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The activities consist of bouncy houses, food trucks, face painting, train rides, a mechanical bull and much more.
