REXBURG—Hoop Idaho Falls recently opened a month ago, and the community is ready to play. The first-ever kind in the area, the mobile arcade basketball trailer is ready for rental.
Brielle Hammond, the owner of Hoop Idaho Falls, is no stranger to the athletic world. She used to work at BYU-Idaho in the Fitness Department and ran events like the Color Run and the Powerlifting competition.
Her almost 2-year-old son is one of her inspirations for the arcade basketball business. She said he likes to sit and shoot.
“He loves basketball probably more than any person I know,” Hammond said.
Hammond felt like southeast Idaho needed something different and fun when she decided to start her business.
The 20-foot trailer has four arcade basketball hoop lanes that keep track of players’ scores. When a player reaches a certain level of points, the hoop moves side to side. The fun does not stop there as disco lights and Bluetooth speakers can add to the party atmosphere for any event.
“We deliver, we set up and then we also take down. So, it's very low pressure for the person that rents us,” Hammond said.
Hoop Idaho Falls adds an element of fun to any event: birthday parties, weddings, corporate events, family reunions and more.
“So, the nice thing about the hoop trailer is kids love us just as much as adults do and teenagers and that's what's so fun is it's meant for everybody in all ages,” Hammond said.
In addition to the main attraction, Hoop Idaho Falls has a few yard games. This includes ax throwing, ninja stars, corn hole, cross net, spike ball and frisbee can jam game.
“We just want something new and fun for the community to bond with and people to have good parties and make it easy for people have us do all the work,” Hammond said.
