A local theatre has productions coming up for the whole family to enjoy.

The Nuart Theatre is a community theater located in Blackfoot that features plays, musicals and other shows. It was built in 1928 and opened in 1930.

Jonathan Williams is the president of the Blackfoot Community Players Board, which manages the theater. He says they’ll have a game show called “Game-On!” coming soon.

“Think of ‘Who’s Line is it Anyway?’ mashed up with ‘Fear Factor’ mashed up with ‘Minute to Win it’ mashed up with ‘America’s Got Talent,’” Williams said. “Pretty much anything can happen on stage. It’s meant to be entertaining, fun and funny and good for the whole family.”

Four random audience members will be paired with four celebrity contestants, and participate in a variety of skits and challenges, including singing, dancing, improv and more.

Audiences have enjoyed these types of shows in years past.

“Their enthusiasm of course encourages the contestants to rise to new heights,” Williams said. “It helps our judges decide who the winners are of each section.”

Prizes will be given to the participants, including the grand prize of season tickets to the Nuart Theatre for its 2026 season, along with candy from the Blackfoot Candy Shop.

Tickets for “Annie” will also be part of the awards. “Annie” will run for multiple days in December, and Williams says the theatre is extremely fortunate to put on the play.

“’Annie’ right now is actually touring, and we had to get the rights to be able to do ‘Annie’ and get permission from the touring company, and they were gracious enough to allow us to do ‘Annie,’ so I think we are the only community theatre in the United States this year that has been allowed to do ‘Annie.’”

Williams credits the support the theatre receives from the community in order to put on its shows.

“We really rely on good support from the community,” Williams said. “We get a lot of good support from Pocatello, Blackfoot and Idaho Falls, and we do appreciate all those that come down and watch our shows. We hope that they get their money’s worth. We all need a good reason to laugh every now and again, and there should be plenty of reasons to laugh here.”

“Game-On!” is this Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. For more information on tickets and upcoming shows, click here.
