New Sweden Farms Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch offers a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Unlike many pumpkin patches, New Sweden Farms does much more than just pumpkins. They also have corn mazes, a large farm-themed playground, a petting zoo, tiny rollercoasters and cow trains, an 18-inch-deep corn pit and a café with concessions.
“It’s pretty versatile, and it gets a little bigger every year,” said owner Deby Infanger in an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio. “That’s our goal, just to have a family-friendly fall destination.”
Infanger and her husband bought the farm and opened it to the public in 2017 to give their grandchildren work experience.
The pumpkin patch is loved by so many families, especially those with children.
“One of the hardest things is getting your kids to leave,” Infanger said. “That’ll always be a challenge. It’s a good problem.”
Among all the fun and games, Infanger likes to keep the focus always on Jesus Christ, no matter the time of year.
“Because we are a religious family, we have taken more of a turn towards all or our mazes having a message about the Savior,” Infanger said. “We try to have something about Jesus Christ that’s in the actual pattern for the maze every year.”
This year’s theme is “Behold the Lamb of God,” with one maze featuring a design of Christ holding a lamb.
New Sweden Farms strives to set itself apart from the rest of the pumpkin patches and corn mazes in southeast Idaho.
“I would say that we have more variety of activities than any other corn maze or pumpkin patch that I’m aware of in the area,” Infanger said. “Usually, a minimum time for kids and their parents is a couple of hours. I always have people tell me they didn’t have time to do everything.”
The farm is open Tuesday-Thursday from 5-9 p.m., along with some Mondays during the same hours, as well as Friday and Saturday from noon-9 p.m. For more information on activities and ticket pricing, click here.
