It’s spooky season! From trunk-or treats to scary car washes, Rexburg and Idaho Falls have Halloween-themed events for the whole family to enjoy.
At the Idaho Mattress Outlet in Rexburg, sleep specialist Shaun Gaillard, one of the outlet’s sleep specialists, tells BYU-Idaho Radio the store will host a trunk-or-treat this weekend.
“We are excited to just put the trunk-or-treat on for a couple of hours for the kids,” Gaillard said. “We want everybody to just come and have a good time.”
The trunk-or-treat will also feature local businesses, along with an upcoming Black Friday sale where mattresses will be between 50-75% off. The trunk-or-treat will run from 3-5 p.m.
At the Trinity United Methodist Church in Idaho Falls, Allison Andersen is the music coordinator. The church is planning on holding its new Monster Mash Halloween concert and trunk-or-treat yearly from now on.
“There really isn’t a Halloween concert in the area,” Andersen said. “As a BYU-Idaho student, they had this amazing Halloween concert in the Barrus Concert Hall. You’d get dressed in your costumes and you came and enjoyed great music. I talked to the church and asked if we could start doing an annual Halloween concert that’s really family-friendly.”
The church is over 100 years old and is on the National Register of Historic Places in Idaho.
The concert begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, and will feature various groups and musicians, along with a trunk-or-treat event.
As for Tommy’s Express Car Wash in Rexburg, shift lead Jackson Kendall explains the first ever tunnel of terror wash at the Rexburg location.
“You’re obviously getting a good car wash to get your car nice and shiny and clean,” Kendall said. “You’re also seeing a bunch of our employees in costumes. We’ve got fantastic decorations all over the building.”
The tunnel of terror is October 29-30 from 6-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 a car for non-pass holders and are included in the price for customers who are already members.
There’s so much to do here in southeast Idaho to celebrate the Halloween season, it’s almost scary.
