The American Falls, Idaho Little Theatre has three musicals planned for its 2027 season to celebrate its 25-year anniversary.

The 2027 season will start with “Nunsense 3: The Country Jamboree” in April, followed by “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and “I Do, I Do” later in the year.

Auditions for “Nunsense” were last week and Jakob Kendall, head of marketing on the board of directors, says the “Nunsense” musicals have a rich history at the Little Theatre.
“It was originally done in 2004,” Kendall said, “The first Nunsense of the series.”

He said they’ve revived the shows several times over the years.

“I was involved in the last two, as well as one of the other board members has played the same role since 2004,” Kendall said.

“I Do, I Do,” one of the other shows in the anniversary season, was the first show ever put on at the Little Theatre. Back then they used church pews donated from one of the local churches in American Falls.

In the 25 years since that first opening show, the theatre has put on a variety of shows, but they shrunk a bit following the COVID-19 shutdown.

"People got kind of busy with their own lives, and so things slowed down,” Kendall said. “We were only putting out one show a year."

Kendall and a few other board members decided to use the 25th anniversary to get the Little Theatre back in the spotlight.

"We've got the three musicals planned, and then we are planning for some fundraising events and then a Christmas celebration festival of trees towards the end of the year to go ahead and raise funds because we do need new lighting and sound," Kendall said.

The Little Theatre is also hosting a 25-year “birthday party” late next spring for the theatre alumni and community members.

"This is a huge thank you to the community,” Kendall said. “Without them, we wouldn't have a little theatre to begin with in the first place. We have some key members of the community that were really foundational in opening up our theatre."

The date for that party has not been announced yet.

The American Falls Little Theatre is also bringing back season tickets for this 25th anniversary season. Interested patrons can get into each of the three shows for a total of $40.
“Buying season tickets helps us fund our future seasons,” Kendall said.
