Hundreds of Latter-day Saint authors, editors, journalists, artists, filmmakers, students and other creatives are preparing to gather for the annual Latter-day Saints in Publishing, Media and the Arts Conference.

The LDSPMA Conference is a three-day event where professionals and students working in and studying publishing, media and the arts can network with each other, develop their professional skills and find inspiration.

BYU-Idaho's LDSPMA Society Student President Kaylee Croasmun says the conference provides an extraordinary chance for students to connect with those working in their desired profession.

She says the conference is a great environment to find jobs and internships as well.

“This is a very, very unique opportunity to meet these professionals, and there have been a lot of instances where people have received jobs and job offers from attending this meeting. It’s super powerful to see all these students and people who are interested in networking and connecting with these professionals,” Croasmun said.

Some highlights of previous conferences for Croasmun include the keynote speakers, such as cellist Steven Sharp Nelson and motivational speaker John Bytheway, who both spoke at the LDSPMA conference last year.

“It was a really, really awesome experience to be able to hear them talk about their experiences and be able to uplift people that are listening to them,” Croasmun said.

This year’s keynote speakers are Allie Condie, Kristin M. Yee, Brigham Taylor and Michael McLean.

Condie and Yee will speak on Friday, and Taylor and McLean will speak on Saturday. For a list of speakers, breakout sessions and a schedule, visit the LDSPMA websitehere.

Also attending the conference will be BYU-Idaho Radio Services Supervisor Brandon Isle and BYU-Idaho Radio Programming Coordinator Natalia Hepworth, who will be emceeing the event.
