Hinge Point, a pop-country group made up of three sisters, prepares to perform in Porter Park after Rexburg’s Fourth of July Parade.

Sisters, Kalli Clare, Kassidy Laine and Kandy Jayne began their band in 2020.

“We had a lot of spare time on our hands because of COVID, and we didn’t have school anymore,” Kassidy Laine said. “And we have always loved growing up singing together and we have always wanted to do something, post videos on YouTube and release songs, but it was never the right time until then. So, once we felt it was, we started working, we posted on YouTube and started videos and recording songs.”

The band’s name is inspired by COVID being a “hinge point” in their lives and in the hopes that their music can be the same for others.

The sisters said one of their favorite things about being in a group together is growing together in unity.

“I think it’s so special to come together, especially as sisters and there couldn’t be anything funner than singing with you best friends,” Kalli Clare said. “We get along really well and just love anytime we can spend together and there couldn’t be anything more fun in the world than getting to make this with your favorite people. It’s a party every time.”

Kandy added that she loves how the band has not only connected them as sisters but has built their relationship with God.

“One of my favorite parts is just this unifying feeling we get after writing a song together, playing a performance,” Kandy Jayne said. “I feel like it connects us al with each other and connects us more together. It’s just really cool just unifying us to God and each other. I love it.”

The sisters just posted their rendition of “God Bless the U.S.A.” in Independence Day preparation. You can check out their YouTube page here.
