REXBURG—A new creative business has opened in Rexburg.
Moose Creek Creative is a creative studio where children, youth and adults can pick any project they want to work on. It features a slime bar, 3D-printed items and more. Customers can complete their projects in the studio or pick them up to take them home.
Michele Lewellen-Cominotti and Andrew Cominotti own Moose Creek Creative. The couple began by selling various items on Etsy before deciding to take their business model to the next level.
They started the business because they say their two daughters, who are 11 and 13, needed things to do and love slime.
“The painting part was my inspiration, and their love for slime and wanting something more to do for kids is where that came from,” Lewellen-Cominotti said.
Even though the studio has only been open for two days, Lewellen-Cominotti says the slime bar is already a fan-favorite.
“The moment we opened our doors, within five minutes yesterday, the kids were coming in ready to do their slime,” Lewellen-Cominotti said. “It was so cool to see those kids’ excitement and expressions and something fun and different and messy.”
Moose Creek Creative is set to introduce new custom options in the future to allow customers to make things like welcome signs for their homes. The studio is also expected to host workshops in the fall where people can work with crushed glass to make epoxy suncatchers.
Lewellen-Cominotti invites everyone to pay the studio a visit.
“It’s a great opportunity to spend time together as a family,” Lewellen-Cominotti said. “Family, date night, friends, girls night. It’s something for everybody.”
Although it officially opened this week, Moose Creek Creative will hold its grand opening event Aug. 14-15 which will feature sales, raffles and food.
The new business is located at 365 W Main St. in Rexburg.
