REXBURG— Tourists and locals can experience the history, mystery, and ghost stories of Idaho Falls through Ghost Walk tours.

Kathy Nave guided guests on her self-made tours Ghost Walk Idaho Falls for the last decade. She started designing the tour after traveling with a friend to Fairbanks Alaska where they experienced a ghost tour there. Nave spent One and a half years preparing and researching the history of Idaho Falls.

“I know a lot of original owners of the businesses or property owners, and they gave me information on that and then I researched it, everything from talking to other people, internet, library, just every source we can get,” Nave said.

Ghost Walk is a one and a half to two hour guided tour, guests follow the pathway where they will pass by historical buildings and be shown the pictures of ghosts taken.

“We tell you the history, the mystery, and the ghost stories connected to the building or the main ghost story that's connected to it,” Nave said.

Ghost Walk is especially popular in October, but Nave suggests visitors come sooner. Private tours can be scheduled by reservation before September through ghostwalkidahofalls.com. Tours typically start at 6:30 or 7 p.m.

In the past schools, reunions, and company parties toured Ghost Walk. Nave said,

“It's unique to the area. There isn't anything really like it that they can do at all around here.”

The Ghost Walk is not like haunted houses; it is a walk and talk tour about the history and mystery of Idaho falls. Nave said to fully understand the ghost stories a person needs to understand the history.

The tour is mainly for adults and is wheelchair friendly. Guests are encouraged to bring their cameras, a jacket, and walking shoes. It is suggested children or pets not be brought.

The tour is $20 per person. To learn more details to go ghostwalkidahofalls.com.
