ORIGINAL STORY
This morning, a message from the Madison County Sheriff alerted all mobile devices about an “emergency situation.” Construction crews hit a sewer line during construction on the US 20 interchange project.
The alert asks that locals “please limit indoor water use (toilets, sinks, laundry, showers, car washes, etc.) until further notice in all parts of the City while the contractor and City work to address the situation.”
The alert includes Rexburg and Sugar City.
There has not been an update on when the estimated resolution time will be. The city of Rexburg did say the water is not contaminated. Crews are working to repair the sewer line and have restricted the flow of water.
