The East Idaho Women in Leadership Summit will take place on Oct. 23, a date organizer Bethany Stone said was intentionally selected because of its connection to the women’s suffrage movement. Stone and Holly Wirth created the event after recognizing a need for women in leadership roles throughout Eastern Idaho to have more opportunities to connect and celebrate their accomplishments.

Stone said the summit is designed to be more than a traditional leadership conference. Instead, she wants attendees to leave feeling recognized and valued.

“That you are seen. I think that’s something that we forget. That we are seen. That you are important and you are loved. You have value,” Stone said. “I want every woman that comes into that room to walk away feeling that they were seen.”

The summit will feature several women with ties to Eastern Idaho who have built careers and platforms around leadership, resilience and personal growth.

Speakers include Lacey Marie, who speaks about identity and her experience with breast cancer; Tifanie Maupin, who rebuilt her life and went on to become a seven-figure earner; Mandy Anderson, founder of Unfinished Wings; and Candy Pedersen, founder of Heart and Backbone.

“When you are able to lift the people around you, that’s actually one of the best leadership skills that you can have,” Stone said.

Each speaker will bring a different experience to the summit. While discussing Maupin’s journey from going through a divorce and living with her parents to becoming a seven-figure earner, Stone said her story shows that current circumstances do not have to determine the future.

“It’s like what we think now is not our life sentence, it’s just a starting point and how we can shift that,” Stone said.

Along with the speakers, attendees will have opportunities to participate in question-and-answer sessions, receive swag bags and door prizes and add professional headshots to their experience. VIP attendees will also have access to a brunch and panel with the speakers.

The experience will continue into the evening with dinner and live music, giving attendees the opportunity to bring someone important to them and introduce that person to the connections they made throughout the day.
