REXBURG— Alliance Title & Escrow annually runs a food drive “Closing the Hunger Gap” in May. This is an opportunity for the community to give and participate in a fun giveaway.

Alison Banta has been the local branch manager in Rexburg for the past 15 years. This year their office is partnered with East Idaho Community Action Partnership (EICAP) for their annual drive.

“Everything that we receive donation-wide, food donations, monetary donations, we give to that organization, and they distribute it to those that need it,” Banta said.

The food drive is looking for non-expired and non-perishable food items. Community members are encouraged by EICAP to bring ready-to-go meal kits.

“We will take whatever people are willing to donate. We're just glad to accept,” Banta said.

A portion of Alliance Title & Escrow revenue earned in the month of May gets donated to the drive too.

Each office gets to choose how they run the campaign. In honor of commemorating 50-year anniversary of the Teton Dam flood, their campaign slogan is “a dam good reason to give.”

In addition, each year the offices participate in a can structure contest. This year the Rexburg office built a dam with donations.

“We invite everybody to come in and see our can structure and make a donation to contribute to that,” Banta said.

Donations are accepted at the Rexburg office located at 130 E. Main St. Anyone who makes a donation is put into a raffle giveaway of two tickets to the Russell Dickerson concert July 3 in Rexburg.

“It's just good knowing that what we're doing is helping somebody,” Banta said.

Donations are accepted until May 31. To learn more, go to www.alliancetitle.com
