The Denny’s in Rexburg is hosting a watch party for the general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with plenty of fun surprises for those who attend.
The Denny’s in Rexburg is hosting the watch party for all of the general conference sessions of The Church of Jesus Christ on Saturday and Sunday. Not only will you be able to watch general conference and eat some of their famous pancakes, but Denny’s General Manager Brittany Hyde says there will be prizes for raffles and conference bingo.
“What they’ll do is they’ll come in, we’ll give them a bingo card and little stickers to put on it,” Hyde said. “Every time one of the certain words is said that’s on the card, they can get a sticker on it. And if they get five in a row, they get a free Denny’s merchandise for winning bingo.”
Hyde says she loves Rexburg and wanted to do something to embrace the Latter-day Saint community.
“We decided to embrace the community that we’re in, which is Rexburg,” Hyde said. " And so with that, we’re just doing general conference. We’re going to play it here in our backroom, and people can reserve tables and come in and play general conference bingo with us while they watch conference.”
Those who reserve a table will also receive a 15% off discount on their purchase.
Denny’s in Rexburg was just named business of the month by the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce, which came as a surprise to Hyde. The prize comes with a banner hanging proudly as soon as you walk through the doors.
“We weren’t really expecting it, so it kind of came as a shock to us,” Hyde said. “But we’re hoping it’ll let the community know we’re here for them, and we want to see them in our restaurant because we love our community.”
