The City of Rexburg is inviting everyone to attend their Community Concert performance this upcoming weekend.
The show features a variety of talent, from local families and bands to individual performances.
“This time our theme is ‘Be Our Guest,’ and it’s just a fun opportunity to come and see local talent and to just have a great time,” said Heidi Pyper, the music specialist for the Cultural Arts Department for the City of Rexburg.
Pyper says there are many benefits of attending the concert and coming together as a community.
“The goal of the Cultural Arts Department, kind of our mission statement, is, ‘Arts for everyone,’” Pyper said. “We know it’s so healthy for communities to gather and do joyful, fun stuff together, and music is just a fabulous way to process emotions and have fun and feel things together.”
The concert is intended for all ages to enjoy, and people are encouraged to attend with anyone they choose.
“It could be a date, it could be family night, it could be if someone just wants to come out solo and come be part of a great party, or with all your roommates,” Pyper said. “It could just be for anyone.”
Pyper insists it will be a magical night filled with nostalgia and fun times. Featured music includes songs from “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin” and “Pocahantas,” to name a few.
“People will be really familiar with all of the songs,” Pyper said. “We have the trivia contest for people that want to test their knowledge about a lot of these childhood movies. It’ll be just a nostalgic night, so we want to invite everyone to come out and have a good time.”
The Concert is this Saturday at the Romance Theater located on Main St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $6 and can be purchased at rexburgarts.com or on the Rexburg city website.
