A Rexburg-based band is gathering a following in Idaho, Utah and on social media.
Coastal City band member and singer Devon Phelps said the band took a break from making music in the fall of 2023 when multiple band members left. He said he then contacted fellow band-member and singer Tucker Hoppe before the winter semester started.
That’s when the two decided to get the band back together and add guitarist Joseph “Joe” Desoto. Desoto says he instantly connected with the two members.
“I always wanted to be in a band. I just feel like God just put people in my life that ultimately led me to Devon and Tucker,” Desoto said.
After the band came together, they recorded an EP called “Sharing Worries,” which they released over the summer. Phelps, who writes the band’s songs with Hoppe, said the writing process was fairly quick.
“I call Tucker and I’m just like, we should get this band back together and create new songs. And so we did and we wrote most of the album within [a] month or two,” Phelps said.
The band is performing songs from “Sharing Worries” as well as covers of songs like “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield at Venue 101 in downtown Rexburg on Friday at 7:30 p.m. You can buy tickets for the show at Simpletix.
The band also has a performance coming up on Dec. 7 at Venue 101, where they will perform with bands Anyone Awake and Sawtelle. You can buy tickets for the December show at Simpletix.
