This Sunday at Madison High School Performing Arts Center, members of the Rexburg Stake and the Rexburg East Stake are coming together to perform an Easter concert. This event will focus on Jesus Christ and prepare the audience for Easter.

“This was probably about nine months ago that I approached some of the individuals … in our stake presidency, said Peter Lamb, who serves as a high counselor in the Rexburg Stake. “I’m ... responsible for music and so I approached them and asked if there would be … a willingness to build out a stake-wide music program.”

Many factors came into play for this concert to happen. Lamb approached members of the Rexburg East Stake, which is full of talented musicians, who agreed to be part of the concert. He invited faculty members from BYU-Idaho, Paul Busselberg and Susan Neimoyer, to perform as well.

A big help for the concert came when they were looking for a place to perform. To fit as many people as possible, Lamb looked to Madison School District #321. The Madison Performing Arts Center had the perfect amount of space and acoustics. Lamb approached the school district, and they were willing to let them use the auditorium.

“Part of the intent that we had behind the programs is that it would be open to the community that it would be non-denominational in nature and that it would be a celebration of Easter time for anyone interested in participating or attending,” Lamb said.

Both the Rexburg Stake and the Rexburg East Stake collaborated time, money and effort to make this concert come alive. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy special music to celebrate this Palm Sunday.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
