The Adopt-A-Highway sign on U.S. Highway 20 near Rexburg will have an extra sign attached to it. The sign will recognize Just Serve of Rexburg as the Idaho Transportation Department’s District 6 Adopt-A-Highway Group of the Year for 2024.

Each year, ITD’s districts each choose a group that has shown exemplary participation in the Adopt-A-Highway cleanup program. It was in April and May that more than 400 volunteers with Just Serve showed up to clean up state highways in Jefferson, Madison, Fremont and Teton counties.

“I think there were probably somewhere around 500 bags of garbage cleaned up along the highway (20) and Highway 33 going out past Sugar City and in some of those other community areas,” said Eric Andreasen who serves with his wife, Nikki, as the Just Serve coordinators for the Rexburg area. “Really, the credit goes to all the wonderful community members that came out to participate in the project.”

Just Serve does more than clean up highway. JustServe.org is a website and app provided as a service by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to help gather volunteers to serve their communities in a variety of ways. Individuals and groups can go to the website or app to find local projects. Organizations can also sign up for a profile to post service opportunities.
