BYU-Idaho Radio will broadcast the 196th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4 - 5. It will be available on KBYI 94.3 FM, KBYR 91.5/90.9 FM and on KBYI HD3 (Talk). These channels are also streamed at www.byui.edu/radio.

The two-day conference will have four sessions, including a solemn assembly during the Saturday morning session. The solemn assembly will be an opportunity for members of the Church of Jesus Christ to sustain a new Church President and First Presidency.

Solemn assemblies have been used to sustain new Church presidents, dedicate temples, hold special commemorations and other sacred purposes. Some of them have included the Hosanna Shout, which represents how the crowds of Jerusalem responded when Jesus Christ entered the city during the last week of His life. This solemn assembly will not include a Hosanna Shout.

A recent announcement adjusted the number of sessions included in general conference. There will no longer be a Saturday evening session. There will be four general sessions for all individuals, families and friends of the Church.

The sessions are as follows:

Saturday, April 4

  • Morning session: 10 a.m. to noon
  • Afternoon session: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, April 5 (Easter)

  • Morning session: 10 a.m. to noon
  • Afternoon session: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

General conference is broadcast live and streamed in more than 70 languages. It is available live or delayed on the internet, radio and television. The messages will later become available in text, audio and video formats in up to 98 languages. They will be available in the Gospel Library app, in the Media Library, the General Conference YouTube channel and in Church magazines.
