15 New temple locations announced at the April 2024 General Conference

SALT LAKE CITY—With the close of the 194th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, President Russell M. Nelson announced 15 new temple locations across the globe.

The 15 temples were announced in this order:

  • Uturoa, French Polynesia 
  • Chihuahua, Mexico 
  • Florianópolis, Brazil 
  • Rosario, Argentina 
  • Edinburgh, Scotland 
  • Brisbane Australia South Area 
  • Victoria, British Columbia 
  • Yuma, Arizona 
  • Houston Texas South Area 
  • Des Moines, Iowa 
  • Cincinnati, Ohio 
  • Honolulu, Hawaii 
  • West Jordan, Utah 
  • Lehi, Utah 
  • Maracaibo, Venezuela 

“I felt such pure joy as I heard about this temple being built in my mission [in Iowa],” local student Morgan Ball shared. “I just knew that the work of salvation was moving forward around the people that I love!”

“I was excited about the new temple [in West Jordan, Utah]. I knew that my old friends in that area will use that temple!” reporter Breanna Latouche also shared.

The Church Newsroom shared more facts about the 15 temples, sharing more about temples surrounding the new locations and about the countries they’re being built in.

This announcement will make 350 temples around the world, with 182 fully operating, 57 under construction or renovation and 96 announced in the past.
