REXBURG— Denmark native, now Utah-based author Annika Champenois has published her latest book featuring time travel, a unique love triangle, and Brigham Young University.

Walter Times Two officially became available on Amazon.com on April 2, and readers have begun to leave positive reviews.

“It's set at BYU and will appeal most to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (it would still be fun for others, too, the religion is not overt),” one review stated.

Champenois says the book centers around the main characters Aurelia, and Walter. The premise of the book includes Aurelia being proposed to by Walter, a stranger who knocks on her door claiming he’s traveled back to the past. Unfortunately, Walter went back too far seeing that Aurelia wasn’t familiar with him at all. So, throughout the story Walter tries to find a way to get her and his other self to date.

“She of course does not believe in time travel, and she thinks, ‘he’s stalking me,’” Champenois says, “She ends up in this crazy love triangle where she starts to realize there are two identical guys running around… It’s going to take her a while to actually believe he’s traveled back in time.”

Champenois says readers can look forward to a latter-day saint read that’s cute, clean, funny, and romantic.

“I hope they’ll have a lot of fun reading it, laugh out loud, enjoy the characters,” Champenois says.

Champenois adds, her enjoyment for sharing her testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints manifests through her stories. She says we shouldn’t hide our testimonies.

“I’m not making it preachy, that wouldn’t be fun for members or non-members to read,” Champenois says. “There’s just an underlying goodness in those books that I hope will help readers to just rediscover, just remember how good it is to just be a part of the Church to just be religious and believe in God.”

Currently, Champenois works as an insurance underwriting analyst and has chosen to go the route of self-publishing. She says she feels more freedom to dictate the direction of her stories and finds that she enjoys being independent. Champenois notes she’s done both self-editing and has hired editors. She’s also benefited from having many beta readers.

“There’s so many resources online to help you. And, the self-publishing platform, they have a lot of resources to help you know how to do everything right, how to make this a good book,”

Champenois says readers can look forward to more adult romances and stories that are set in scriptural times.

“One of them would be from Alma’s time. I’ve had some thoughts about a possible story with him an his wife… and another one based on the Tower of Bable which would be easier to market that one to members and non-members alike because everyone knows about the Tower of Bable, and I’m so interested in languages,” Champenois says.

She says her published books so far include Artfully Annoying, another book that takes place at BYU, and Walter Times Two. You can find them both on Amazon.com.
