BYU-Idaho’s Center Stage is set to host Jenny Oaks Baker’s “The Redeemer” on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the BYU-Idaho Center.

Baker says putting this performance together has been one of the most spiritually uplifting experiences she has had. She added that this is an interfaith event and welcomes all who want to grow a connection to Jesus Christ.

“This is an interfaith event where Christians from all churches can come together and worship the Savior as one,” Baker said. “It’s the most spiritually impactful production I’ve ever been a part of. I know God is behind it and is directing every aspect and it’s just a privilege to partner with him to bring this to the world.”

Baker wrote an album entitled “The Redeemer” and performed its songs live for BYU-Idaho in 2022. Since then, she and her composer, Kurt Bester, added more to the concert. Together they decided to add more moments from the life of Jesus Christ including His baptism, the Sermon on the Mount and the beatitudes.

In addition to more moments from Christ’s life, Baker and Bester added vocal soloists, a choir and additional orchestral movements.

Baker says she hopes this performance has a spiritual impact on those who attend.

“I hope it helps them to grow closer to the Savior; that’s really the point,” Baker said. “I hope it helps them feel closer to God and feel of his love and have an increased appreciation for the Savior’s atoning sacrifice.”

Tickets for the event are available on BYU-Idaho’s ticketing website or go to the ticket office in the BYU-Idaho University Store.
