BYU-Idaho’s Center Stage is excited to present world-renowned illusionist Rick Thomas and his crew who create a family-friendly spectacular show for any audience they perform in front of around the globe. With a well-established residency in the live entertainment capital of the world, Thomas and his crew have completed five world tours covering over 50 countries.

Freshly back from his tour in Australia, Thomas has taken the dedicated initiative to drive a semi-truck full of his equipment across country to entertain the Rexburg community.

In a recent BYU-Idaho Radio interview, Thomas said the public may be surprised to find out that although his career has focused on magic, he is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

"I am a member of the Church and served my mission in Australia,” Thomas said. “I love the world of magic. Someone may say, ‘How are you a member of the Church and do magic?’ And I go, ‘Well, my magic, I promise you, there is nothing evil about it. It rocks this world. I promise the finest magic in the world, and it's going to be right there in Idaho.’”

Thomas says the show’s theme has a unique message for BYU-Idaho students.

“Everything about it is inspiring for students, the theme of the show is nothing happens until you dream,” he said.

Thomas also said there is nothing like watching a magic show live.

“If you have not seen a large magic production live, you have not seen magic as it is beautifully done.”

The show is Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Hart Auditorium. Tickets for the show are available at the ticket office outside the Hart Auditorium or by visiting byui.edu/tickets.
