This weekend, Holmes Ave. in Idaho Falls is transforming to Broadway for two nights with the Epic Broadway Benefit Concert.
Sponsored by the Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre, Roger’s Revue 2025 Annual Benefit Concert Epic Broadway will showcase musical theatre favorites and raise money for two graduating seniors heavily involved in the art center’s programs.
Roger’s Revue Artistic Director Erin Cannon is involved in planning the concert, alongside director Roger Evans, who started Roger’s Revue and arranges and curates the concert’s songs.
“There will be selections from ‘Rent,’ there'll be selections from ‘Phantom,’ ‘Hamilton,’ ‘Bridges of Madison County,’ ‘Chicago,’ ‘The Notebook,’ ‘Elf,’” Cannon said. “This year as he sat around and was selecting songs, he said the word that kept coming to his mind was epic and so Roger's Revue 2025 is Epic Broadway.”
Cannon also looks forward to performing in the concert with the talented group of performers.
“There is a particularly challenging number for me on the piano,” Cannon said. “It's very jazzy and so anytime I can get a challenging piece like that, it always makes me look forward to it. But it's just the variety of pieces that we perform and the caliber of talent that we have, both in the orchestra and as well as the vocalists. It's just, it is the pinnacle of my musical involvement.”
The concert is Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 in the Frontier Center for the Performing Arts next to Idaho Falls High School. The Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre will receive all proceeds to contribute to its scholarship program.
“I have been involved with IFYAC for a number of years, and I just wholeheartedly believe in their mission and what they do for youth,” Cannon said. "I love that that you can come in and spend an evening out, but then you're also doing something good by helping out IFYAC and their mission and their scholarship fund. So, it will be an amazing night.”
Tickets are $20 and are available online at IFYAC.org/tickets.
