With timeless swing music, the iconic ladies of jazz and an important cause, the Idaho Falls Symphony presents this year’s Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Red Dress Concert, The Great Ladies of Jazz.

With special guests from Broadway, Aisha de Haas, and Nova Y. Payton, the concert will showcase jazz female favorites like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday with a love song theme for Valentine’s Day. The symphony is directed by Dr. Thomas Heuser.

“It's music of George Gershwin and other musicians who have these wonderful American songs from Broadway shows and to have that combination of Broadway singers together with this wonderful Broadway music is absolutely spectacular,” Heuser said.

The annual Red Dress Concert is in partnership with Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and the red dresses symbolize and bring awareness to Women’s Heart Health Month.

“We've had some wonderful testimonials about people who have become more aware of their own health and taken better care of themselves as a result of this promotion,” Heuser said. “That's how we try to give back in this concert setup.”

The concert is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Frontier Center for the Performing Arts in Idaho Falls. While it is a red dress event, there is no dress code.

“It's a real party environment, there's a lot to look forward to and the music is very catchy,” Heuser said. “This is a concert that might actually have audiences getting up and dancing in the aisles, which is not your typical symphony scene. So come see the action of the symphony.”

Doors open at 6 p.m. and you can find tickets at Ifsymphony.org, org or you can purchase them at the door.
