Idaho Falls is an ever-growing community with new local businesses constantly trying to find their footing. The new management of The Market of Idaho Falls is a monthly market that seeks to help local businesses in getting their names in front of customers. Manny Ibarra is a manager over the market who works closely with these businesses to help promote them with the Market of Idaho Falls.

“We try to get a lot of people that are just coming up in their businesses,” Ibarra said. “Because there's a lot of businesses that people have that are growing. So, we try to get them started. Local businesses, with local owners set up at the markets and try to promote themselves to get more business.”

The Market of Idaho Falls does things differently than many other local street markets, often keeping smaller venues. At these smaller venues the market is careful to not have vendors who sell similar products, so businesses do not have to compete with one another.

“We try not to have people sell things over $200,” Ibarra said. “That way when somebody comes to the market, they know they can afford some things that are there, not high-priced items.”

Looking to the future, Ibarra hopes to continue to improve and grow the market, offering more venders and other activities.

“I hope to make it bigger and have vendors that people really like,” Ibarra said. “But not make it too big to where it gets kind of crazy. I don't want to go up to a hundred vendors like that. I think 50 to 60 vendors is good for each month. That way it's not too crowded.”

The market for March is planned to be larger than usual. It will be held at the West Bank in Idaho Falls, with live band performances and a DJ.

The Market of Idaho Falls is held monthly, with the next market being held this Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at Park Avenue Grill, 3950 S. Yellowstone Hwy. More information on The Market of Idaho Falls can be found on their Facebook page
