Idaho Falls is gearing up for its annual “Clean and Green” citywide cleanup effort this May.
The initiative is made possible through a partnership between the city’s Code Enforcement Division and Sanitation Division.
According to a news release, staff from both departments will host a series of neighborhood cleanup events throughout the month, giving residents a convenient way to dispose of unwanted items while helping keep the community safe and beautiful.
Cleanup sites will be open to the public Thursday through Saturday for three consecutive weeks, beginning May 7.
Community members can bring unwanted items to the following locations:
May 7–9
- Sweeper Dump
- Russ Freeman Park
May 14–16
- Idaho Falls Aquatic Center parking lot
- Melaleuca Field (Sunnyside area) (optional correction if needed—confirm name)
May 21–23
- Garfield Substation
- Old Butte Soccer Complex
All locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Residents should note that certain items will not be accepted, including hazardous waste, demolition materials, tires, large appliances, and some types of metal.
