IDAHO FALLS — Club Apple health club is holding its annual pre-season dog day pool party on Saturday to benefit local animal shelters.
The pool party event is open for club members and the public to attend with their dogs. The event allows community members the opportunity to take their dogs to have fun at the Club Apple outdoor pool. And attendees can enjoy different activities.
“We have the outdoor pool open up people can bring their pups in and we do raffles and silent auction,” said Kate Long, the program’s director at Club Apple. “There will be some snacks provided by mountain mercantile. And basically, what we do is the dogs can come and swim and it's so fantastic.”
The event will be from noon to 2 p.m. Entry is free to club members and their dogs. Community members can enter for free and can pay $5 for their dog to enter. Snake River Animal Shelter will also be there and will offer free microchipping at the event.
All proceeds from the event will go to Snake River Animal Shelter and Loving Hearts Cat Rescue.
“So, all of that money stays in our community to help all of our furry friends,” Long said. “I love that this community shows up for us whenever we do something to try to help a local nonprofit.”
The Dog Day event is an annual tradition for Club Apple, with more than 100 dogs each year.
“The dogs have a blast, the people have a blast, and there's just not much out there that can invoke a smile better than watching a dog chase a tennis ball into a pool,” Long said.
