Idaho Falls Arts Council looks forward to upcoming events

BYU-Idaho Radio · Idaho Falls Arts Council looks forward to upcoming events
The Idaho Falls Arts Council has several events the whole community can get involved in this month.

Performances include: One Night of Queen, Peter Pan by the D91 Music Department, Idaho Falls Symphony: Pursuit of Perfection, JigJam and Ray on My Mind: The Ray Charles story.

Location performances vary. They take place at the Colonial Theater, Civic Center or Willard Arts Center.

“What we love is that the community can use these spaces how they want to and that we can really stay out of the definition of art, “ said Brandy Newton, executive director for Idaho Falls Arts Council.

The 15th annual Juried Exhibition will take place from Mar. 16 to May 28. The exhibition takes submissions from artists from all around the country and creates a show. The juror who is selecting pieces for the show this year is Anne Voillequé. There is a wide variety of art displayed at the exhibition, from woodwork to fabric arts. At the reception in the evening of Mar. 16, awards will be given out.

“We’ve really tried to stay out of the definition of what art is, so we hope there is something on our calendar that can speak to you,” Newton said.
