The Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame will hold its annual banquet this month to honor its five new inductees into the hall of fame.
For over 50 years, Idahoans who have made an impact on the agriculture industry have been recognized and honored by the hall of fame.
“Every year, Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame honors five distinguished farmers or people that are involved in agriculture,” said Richard Larsen, the president-elect of the Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame. “And this year, the Five inductees are Rick Keller, Jeff and Cindy Siddowey, Shawn Walters, Dennis Lake, and David Crapo.”
Inductees are chosen by the board for the Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame and voted on.
“They give the history and their background and the committees they've been on, the positions they served, and present that to the board,” Larsen said. “There can be 10 or 15 names brought forward, but there's only five inductees into the Hall of Fame each year.”
In recognition of the recent 50-year anniversary, Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame is selling a ‘Legacy and Leaders’ book. The book shares the stories and celebrates the first 50 years of hall of fame inductees.
“Each year there's always new improvements, new people developing markets, helping pave the way for us in the agriculture community,” Larsen said.
The banquet and reception will be held on March 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Shoshone Bannock Hotel and Event Center. Tickets and the ‘Legacy and Leaders’ book can be purchased at the Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame website.
