Composer releases new jazz-style Christmas album, "Hollywood Christmas"

BYU-Idaho Radio · Richard Williams talks about his new album, "Hollywood Christmas"
It’s finally December, and that means it’s time to pull out all the Christmas music, both old and new. Richard Williams, a music composer, released his new jazz-style Christmas album this year called “Hollywood Christmas.”

The album features Williams’ renditions of several classic Christmas songs like “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Let It Snow.”

Williams worked on the album for two years. He said his inspirations for the album included musical artists like Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé and The Carpenters.

“One of my goals…was to be able to bring in all the different facets of different groups,” he said.

The cover art for the album features Williams holding his son while they look at a Christmas tree in wonder.

You can listen to the full album on Spotify, Apple Music or your favorite streaming platform. You can also order CDs on Amazon.
