This week's BYU-Idaho devotional speaker emphasizes the importance of trusting in God’s plan and noticing His hand in our lives.
In her devotional talk, Bonnie H. Cordon, Young Women General President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, talked about how the Lord knows the power and influence that we can have as His children.
“I hope you will hear and feel this next statement deeply. You are known by our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They know your name, your attributes and ambitions, your worries, and your weariness. Dear friends, they remember who you were in the pre-earth life,” Cordon said.
In an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio, Cordon shared a unique experience she had when she was called to serve a mission at 17 years old. Hesitant and unsure about how she would be able to do it, she saw the Lord bless her path in unexpected ways as she trusted in Him.
“Sometimes desires come after we jump in,” Cordon said.
On her mission in Portugal, she was companions with her sister and learning Portuguese became a blessing years later when her husband served as a mission president in Brazil.
Cordon’s trust in the Lord throughout her life has proved to be a blessing as she continues to serve members of the Church throughout the world.
