Over the years I’ve dedicated countless hours to watching films and learning about behind-the-scenes secrets. From learning how “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” was filmed to understanding how many stunt doubles it takes to make a Spider-Man movie, this film fanatic has been dedicated to the details.

In a lifetime of watching movies one thing that has always intrigued me is the food in films. Do they use real recipes? Do they make it up? How realistic are the foods in animated features? To be honest it depends on the director and producers of the film. Some love to create an authentic experience with real recipes that are period specific and regionally precise. Others find it fun to create new recipes or fake food to enhance the mystery and wonder of the world and its characters.

This week on “The Perfect Score,” I decided to highlight recipes from films both old and new! I scoured the internet for recipes that accurately depict the delectable treats we see on the silver screen, and I’m happy to say I found quite a few that I’m excited to try!

“The Grey Stuff,” from “The Beauty and the Beast,” was a particularly controversial recipe. Some recipes featured the sweet treat from Disney Parks, and some featured a more accurate guess for the setting of the film, liver pâté. I decided to include links to both versions so you can choose what to try.

Many of the other recipes are charming little dishes from some of my favorite films. Here’s the list of all the recipes I mentioned in the episode. If you try any of them, leave us a comment on our Instagram with a picture of the recipe, we’d be happy to see what you’ve created!
