In a recent interview for BYU-Idaho Radio’s newest podcast, Fulfilling the Mission, Casey Ann Hurley, the Dean of the College of Business and Communication at BYU-Idaho, shared how the college’s focus is on helping students grow both personally and professionally, but emphasizing the spiritual development alongside their academic success.
"If you send your student to study in our college, we will do our best to help that student grow in faith, to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ and we’ll do our best to give your child opportunities to do hands on things," Hurley said.
She highlighted the college’s hands-on programs, like the Innovative Business Creation (IBC) program, where students start and run a business. She believes these experiences help students become more self-aware and become better leaders, along with giving them the necessary experiences that they will surely face in their prospective future careers.
"We hope ultimately more than anything that the program increases the discipleship of students," Hurley said.
The College of Business and Communication’s mission, going alongside that of BYU-Idaho’s, is to shape students into capable leaders in their communities, careers and families, with a strong foundation of faith.
