General Authority Seventy spoke about Christ’s example at Tuesday’s Devotional.

Elder Egbo’s address, entitled A Testimony of Jesus Christ, revolved around the mission and ministry of Christ’s life and how following His example can transform us.

“Jesus’ invitation to “come and see” by seeking Jesus Christ as the prophets and apostles have written is a lifelong journey of learning faith and obedience,” Elder Egbos said. “That leads to a deeper understanding of and relationship with Him.”

In an BYU-Idaho Radio interview Elder Egbo said Christ’s ministry and example is a great thing to follow.

“You see, Jesus Christ was focused on His mission, which is the atonement and His ministry,” Egbo said. “The gospel is made up of His examples, His service. Because of His atonement, Christ needed first to demonstrate to us those attributes that will make the atonement, the saving, the central point of out mortal existence.”

Elder Egbo added that the only way to truly experience a better life is to live by Christ’s example and commandments.

“That scripture is an invitation to everyone, first to consider the fact that no matter how exciting or beautiful this mortal life looks like or feels like, there is a better life,” Egbo said. “And the way to get that better life, to experience that better life, is by relying on the merits of Christ, keeping His commandments. When we keep his commandments, then we are assured that we will find a life that is better beyond our imaginations of the life that we live right now.”
