The Campus Recreation program at BYU-Idaho is offering a new intramural sports pass to all students for the Fall 2025 semester.
Trent Hanson is the student sports manager in the Campus Recreation program. He says for $20 a semester, students can register for an unlimited number of sports, tournaments or events. This means students won’t have to pay for each individual sport they want to play.
“If you think about it, if you were to play three rec sports and play in two tournaments that would probably run you $60 for a semester,” Hanson said. “Now you can do it all for $20 if you do the sports pass.”
Whether students are looking to try something new or stick to what they like, BYU-Idaho offers a variety of options for this fall semester, including flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball and pickleball.
There will also be multiple competitive programs, such as volleyball, cross country, water polo and even football.
“We’ve got our competitive football league which is full contact,” Hanson said. “We’re actually the only university in the country who offers a full-contact intramural football program.”
Hanson encourages all students to give the pass a try and join in the fun of sports.
“It just kind of gives you the freedom to go try different things, go meet people, go put yourself out there,” Hanson said. “It’s just a great opportunity for people to go have some fun and grow as individuals. It’s why we love sports.”
